Message from the Dean

I am pleased to welcome you to New England College’s Master of Science in Management – Strategic Leadership – Online (MSSL) degree program.

Is strategy and structure enough for sustainability? Or must today’s leaders look beyond the basics, taking into account crucial elements, including the necessity of being prepared to alter contemporary practices?

The business world is constantly changing, volatile and highly complex. Success in the 21st century requires dynamic organizations with the ability to respond to change quickly, effectively, and collaboratively.

In an organization where faith in the abilities of formal leaders is highest, employees will look to these individuals during times of drastic change for effective and rational planning, positive and effective decision-making, and regular, complete communication that are timely and unambiguous. Leaders who are equipped with the latest and most advanced knowledge, and are innovative in challenging conventional wisdom, will have the opportunity to empower their organizations and be more competitive in the global marketplace.

The MSSL program offers managers and executives the opportunity to examine and restructure their current organization, and create strategies for staying ahead in a dramatically more competitive global environment. Our MSSL students and graduates are amazed at the level of convenience offered by this rigorous and challenging course of study. You now have the opportunity to earn your Master’s Degree without placing your career on hold or relocating.

Studying online, supported by NEC’s extraordinary 24/7 technical support system, enables our students to continue in their present jobs while enhancing their performance as they learn. Students will acquire problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and apply what they learn in class to current challenges in their jobs and their organizations, adding stature to their reputation as they advance their credentials. With a manageable time commitment of approximately 15 to 20 hours per week of study, and faculty who appreciate the challenges of balancing this commitment with home and work schedules, the MSSL program offers working professionals the perfect avenue for personal and professional growth. The immense value it will add to your working life begins with the decision you are about to make – to take the next step toward achieving leadership in your chosen field.

I look forward to welcoming you to New England College.
